WHY? Every day 21,000 children die from preventable causes. 21,000 children! As a humanity, we cant let this happen. I decided to get involved with UNICEF more after having my 2 children. Children are innocent and should be protected by those of us who can do something.

INSPIRATION: I've always been inspired by the innocence and laughter of children. My own 2 girls made the vulnerability of all children even more potent to get involved.
Dear Mallika, I've been involved with UNICEF for quite some time too, and I can think of no other organization doing more good for the children in the hardest hit parts of the world. Thanks for spreading the word!

Thank you for sharing this Malika. I am involved with a small, nonprofit Women Skills Development program in Pokhara, Nepal who's biggest aim is empowering women; with the left over profit after all the bills have been paid the program sponsors children who were not able to go to schoo. The women who work there are also now to be to send their children to school. It is a small organization but I can see the result as I worked there for the last 3 months...small steps lead to big steps :-)
